On July 20th, hundreds of people engaged in ministry with children will conference in Indianapolis, Indiana for what is hoped to be an opportunity to deepen our knowledge about the children that we serve. 

What are their spiritual, educational, and physical needs? 
What is our responsibility to our children? 
What impact has the current economic situation had on the youngest of our world?

These are indeed tough questions, but tough questions that must be addressed in an atmosphere that allows people to be open and honest about what they are facing in their communities.  My hope is that FOCUS will be that place.  Of course it is a place to connect with others who face similar challenges, but it should also be a place where we go deeper than talking about who we are… rather it should be a place where we receive the tools to do this work to which God has called us, and encourage one another to then go forth and DO IT! 

This is my first time planning or attending FOCUS.  I am not sure what to expect, but I feel that all the elements are in place to tackle the tough questions.  We shall see, and you will certainly get a report or two!
